The ISL6292D is an integrated single-cell lithium-ion or lithium-polymer battery charger capable of operating at input voltages as low as 2.4V. The charger is designed to work with various types of AC adapters or USB ports. The ISL6292D works as a linear charger when the AC adapter is the voltage source. Batteries are charged in CC/CV(constant current/constant voltage) mode. Charging current can be programmed up to 2A.
Typical Application
The ISL6292D can also work with a current limiting adapter to minimize heat dissipation, in which case the ISL6292D combines the benefits of a linear and pulse charger. The ISL6292D features charge-current thermal retraction to ensure safe operation in situations where PCB cooling space is limited. Additional features include pre-regulating overdischarged batteries, NTC thermistor interfaces for charging batteries within safe temperature ranges, automatic charging, and heat-enhanced QFN packs.
