Bourns introduces AD and SD series miniature thermal fuse (TCO) miniature circuit breaker assemblies. The Bourns AD and SD series mini circuit breakers offer several industry-first features including: a high level of reset, precision and repeatable overtemperature protection not previously available in miniature devices. The first Bourns mini-circuit breakers to offer a non-automatic reset (self-holding) or auto-reset (non-self-holding) option are either table-mounted (SD series) or axial lead/welded (AD series). The new model is also the first mini-circuit breaker to offer such a wide range of trip temperatures (55 °C to 150 °C).
In addition, these miniature circuit breaker families have passed Bourns testing and meet the AEC-Q200 equivalent test standard. The new Bourns AD and SD series mini circuit breakers also have a number of valuable features, including high trip accuracy of only plus or minus 5 °C and extremely low resistance of up to 4 milliohm. These highly repeatable devices provide ratings of up to 10,000 cycles and can be used as resettable overtemperature protectors or sensors in battery systems.
